Quiet time...

Busy at Work

Lately I have traded in blogging for napping. I miss blogging, but oh do I love taking a few minutes to rest each day. I'm going to try to find a way to work blogging back in to the routine, but if you don't find me musing much, just know that I'm well rested.

Today I'm missing my little rest. Lina took a long morning nap and isn't sleepy. Katelin and Seth are deeply engaged playing in their respective "huts" made of tables, blankets, and couch cushions. I can't really bear to disrupt them for quiet time, so hopefully I can get a rest a little bit later. For now, I'll put a little update on the blog and listen to them giggling, shuffling around, and caring for their stuffed animals and dolls. Here's hoping your afternoon is filled with such happy sounds.

Can you PLEASE tell me how to initiate quite time? My girls refuse to nap and they just aren't getting the concept of quiet time. I envy your ability to nap.

Oh, I used to love the blanket forts. Such a fun way to keep kids busy and happy.

And for your friend Christina, don't know if this will work, but having your children lay down next to you while you quietly read them a story helps get them the idea. Sometimes they actually fall asleep if you read really softly.
