Anniversary Weekend: Bowling Edition

Sometimes you just have to go and roll a bowling ball down the road.

Seven years. That is the amount of time that has passed since I married this guy (see above picture). Okay, actually it has been seven years and one day. I'll save telling you all the reasons why it's been a wonderful seven years for another time. Instead I'll tell you a little story.

When Trevor and I were dating/engaged/newly married, he told me that if life ever got boring we just needed to go and roll a bowling ball down the road. It has become our way of saying it is time to mix things up and approach life a little bit differently.

So to kick off our anniversary weekend we loaded up the kids and a bowling ball (thank you Salvation Army) and found a deserted parking lot. Then we rolled.... and laughed and rolled some more. After a while we scrounged some old drink bottles and set up pins, too. Do you know how difficult it is to bowl on pavement?

Anyway, at the end of the night, we snapped pictures, shared a Twix and walked home smiling, laughing and feeling a little lighter. A good beginning to a good weekend...

I bet your kids will remember your anniversary forever. I can just see Kaitlyn bowling and laughing.
