Three Simple Things Update
So maybe you are wondering how I've been doing on my three simple things. Well I have learned something. If you set three goals, and you only procrastinate one of those goals, you do AWESOME on the first two! I've found that the scriptures and workout are quite easy, while the organization is easy to procrastinate. Usually, I do just a tiny little bit each day -- if anything at all.
It's strange, because I love to organize and more than that, I love to be organized, but I am at a standstill in my house. I've made a lot of headway, but I've hit a wall. The remedy whenever you hit a wall is to dedicate a large chunk of time to get started and dig in... Either that, or avoid the task all together and go to the playground.

Three Simple Things
My goal is to do these three things every day -
Today I've already danced to the Yoga Booty Booty Ballet Hip-Hop video (thanks for lending it mom) and read a conference talk and scripture this morning. Now I just have to dig into the book closet. That could be scary... but worth it... I hope.
- Read at least one verse of scripture.
- Get moving. Twenty minutes of exercise.
- Organize one shelf, one box, or one closet.

One Dollar's Worth of Fun
My Mother's Day brought a sick Katelin, or at least a recovering Katelin so we spent the day at home, while Trevor headed off to church, where he would be speaking on what a wonderful mother I am... or something like that. I was particularly disappointed to miss his talk and what would have been Katelin's debut with the Primary children singing "Mother I Love You." So sad.
Nevertheless, in the evening we hit the park with some heavy duty kite-flying -the highlight of my Mother's Day. I just can't help but love watching something soaring so high. Oh to be a kite...

Burning Questions
- How did this child (the bald one) "fix" my computer screen so that to read it you have to turn your head sideways?
- How does one who doesn't have much interest in scrapbooking still keep a few sentimental items (besides pictures) and such for posterity's sake?
- How would one go about getting rid of fruit flies?
- Should I donate or trash my graco carseat, expiration December of 2011, but it has now been used for the first year of life for both of my children? Is it still safe?
- What should we have for dinner tonight??
If you have answers to these or any other questions, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Hopelessly romantic
Katelin after a competitive game of "Kiss the Prince" (similar to Pin the Tail on the Donkey) at a Princess Birthday Party Yesterday.
Katelin has a few notions about romance and love -
While watching a disney movie, "I think they are falling in love."
My friend Lonna asks, "Really? Why?"
"Because they're singing to each other." Obviously!!
****
While talking about boys from preschool -
"If Andrew is married when I get big, I'll just marry Austin."
"What if Austin is married?"
"I'll marry Ethan, he is soooo funny."
"I'll marry Ethan, he is soooo funny."
****
"Do you like twirling in that dress?"
"Yes, so I can get married."
"Yes, so I can get married."
"Oh, you need to know how to twirl to get married?"
"I already know how."
"I already know how."
****
"Mom and Dad, when I see you kiss, I want to kiss someone."

Fashion Sense
Black ballerina dress - (free from cousin Addie), pink tutu (Walmart -$10), white gloves (mmmm? Not sure), pink princess shoes (Walmart $3), Princess backpack (c/o Grandma Budge)
White summer hat (c/o Aunt Julie), heart swimming suit (c/o Cousin Addie), pink tutu (used to be Mom's) Purple top (gift from Trevor's co-worker in India)
A friend of mine used to joke with me that you knew you had given up on life when you started wearing sweats to go grocery shopping. I haven't resorted to that yet (after all, why would you wear sweats, when you can wear yoga pants), but after two years of pregnancy, breastfeeding, and basically putting of any major clothing shopping, things in my closet were starting to look kind of shabby (and definitely not shabby chic).
So, with spring in full bloom, I decided it was time to replenish, my dwindling wardrobe. I am by no means a fashion expert, but I can't explain how much better I feel about myself when I have a fresh t-shirt and a new pair of flip-flops. It's the little things right?
I used to spend a good chunk of my hard-earned teaching money on clothing and on looking professional. I started teaching when I was 22, and I felt I had to dress up so that I wouldn't look like a high-school student sneaking over to the junior high school (as a student-teacher at Sky View High School I had been sent "back to class" by one unknowing teacher). When I quit teaching, I slowly sorted through the dress pants, the skirts, the collared shirts blouses and after four years as a stay-at-home Mom, I have given all but a few pieces away. The bulk of my wardrobe now consists of jeans, shorts and t-shirts.
I like the casual dress-code of motherhood. It is fitting to dress down for diaper changing, training toddlers to self-feed, and playing at the park. But there is something about putting on a skirt, a bracelet, and a fresh coat of lip-gloss once in a while. Just because I'm casual, doesn't mean that I have to wear sweats.

Blogger's Rut
I am in a blogger's rut. Actually in a little bit of a rut overall. Seth is cutting two molars and seems to be draining me of all energy with his whining, crying, fussing, and refusal of food, which then leads to hunger and more whining, crying and fussiness. I could really use a balloon or a princess crown to cheer me up. I will try to re-group and hit the blogging scene hard next week. Happy Friday.
